- Manuel Correa, Vice President, Saint-Gobain Abrasives North America
- Keith Scott, Production Supervisor – Bonded Abrasives Plant 8 at Saint-Gobain Corporation As a Technical Service Specialist, Keith serves as the liaison between the customers and production, making sure customer needs are fulfilled and orders are delivered on time. Keith feels the people he works with here are truly like a second family. “The reason I started here and continue to work here is because you can see the opportunities to grow within the business. The company really values the employees who work here from benefits and competitive pay.” Keith was originally hired out of high school through the College Work Program (CWP) as a Stock Keeper and transitioned to other positions such as Trucker, Shipper/Receiver, Inspection and Packer, and was eventually hired full-time after college as a Plaster Mold Maker, eventually accepting a Group Leader role, responsible for his own division within the plant, until he was promoted to Technical Service Specialist. “Looking into the business, manufacturing isn’t always attractive, but Saint-Gobain continues to invest in its employees and the business with finding new products, expanding markets, and automation initiatives to continually grow and remain competitive.”
- Justin Halley, Technical Service Specialist at Saint-Gobain Justin is a Production Supervisor for our Bonded Abrasives business with responsibility in our Large Molding department, plant 8. Justin started as a finishing operator on third shift, and while working nights, he went to school during the day. Justin’s hard work and dedication has helped him to advance quickly in the company. Over the course of three years, Justin has been promoted three times and is currently serving as the Production Supervisor for plant 8. “Saint-Gobain supported my efforts to grow and obtain my degree while working.”
- John Winkler, Operations Manager, Performance Ceramics and Refractories, and Industrial Director, Growth Projects
- Forest Potter, Production Planner at Saint-Gobain Forest Potter was recently promoted to the role of Production Planner from his previous role of Group Leader II where he led the Kiln Firing Work Centers and Team Members. Now, as a Production Planner, Forest is responsible for the maintenance and execution of the production schedule for the factory focusing on efficient delivery times and cost. Forest came into the company shortly after completing high school and working various jobs. He didn’t have a college degree and thought Saint-Gobain would be a temporary stop in his work history. However, he quickly realized he could progress from within and worked his way up to a leadership role, in charge of his own division. Forest stated, “I have leadership and peers who invest in my development and challenge me to be better every day.” He is now learning his new role and planning on using the Tuition Reimbursement Program to obtain his college degree. “If you start here with an entry level position, are positive, and have a strong work ethic, this place will take care of you with countless opportunities. It really starts to feel like family and not just a job.”
- Dan Dorey Jr., ATL – Mix/Mold/Kilns at Saint-Gobain Dan is an Autonomous Team Leader (ATL) for Mix/Mold & Kilns on second shift. Dan started in Finishing as an entry-level Finishing Operator. He then moved up to Lead Operator within a year. Dan’s background with CNC Machines allowed him to easily transition to the lead role. As the lead operator on second shift, Dan was able to utilize his skills on various machines and equipment. With this lead role, it was the perfect transition into an ATL role for mix/mold to which he was promoted in January 2018. In the ATL role, Dan is responsible for workflow of a team of more than 20 individuals. This requires Dan to be flexible and agile while answering questions around processes and being the “go to” guy on his shift. Dan is well respected among his team members and considered a technical resource for his shift. “My father has worked for (Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics) for (more than) 30 years as a sales manager and he always talked about the great career that Saint-Gobain has given him. It only made sense for me to see where I could go by joining such a reputable company. Coming from a manufacturing background, Saint-Gobain (Norton) made sense for me. Once I was able to get in the door, I felt that leading by example and putting in the dedicated work would be recognized.”

Services/Products
Saint-Gobain Performance Ceramics and Refractories leads the industry in design, development and production of engineered ceramics and refractory products for extreme operating conditions and high-temperature applications. Products are designed to maximize performance and durability while minimalizing environmental impact. For example, ceramic products made from the Amasic-3D® platform offer benefits in energy savings, reduced emissions, reduced maintenance and increased output and production rate of furnaces. The innovative and collaborative Amasic-3D platform enables geometries that were previously impossible to produce with siliconized silicon carbide.
Saint-Gobain Abrasives, the world’s leading manufacturer of abrasives, provides a complete portfolio of products that offer powerful, precise and user-friendly solutions for every step of the abrasive process. This enables our customers to shape and surface-finish all types of materials, even in the most complex and challenging applications, from Do-It-Yourself home improvement to highly technical precision engineering.
Saint-Gobain Abrasives continual investment in research and development (R&D) and close collaboration with customers continues to generate performance-optimized solutions that deliver efficiency and productivity. Through those combined efforts, R&D helped make it possible for Superabrasives to enter into the fixed diamond wire market. Fixed diamond wire is a product developed outside of the traditional grinding wheels the business is known for. This new Saint-Gobain Abrasives product uses diamond coated wire to saw through hard materials. This highly competitive product has presented new development opportunities for employees to expand technical capabilities and new skill sets for engineers and production operators, and positions Abrasives for an even broader product portfolio
